August 28, 2010: Thailand’s Chapchai Nirat posted a three-under-par 69 to move into a share of tied 16th place after the second round of the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles on Friday.

Chapchai, who holds the world 72-hole scoring record of 32-under-par 256 winning total at the SAIL Open in India in 2009, started with two bogeys on 11 and 12 before firing six consecutive birdies to make the turn in 32.

He closed with another birdie followed by two bogeys for a two-day total of five-under-par 139 at the tournament where Englishmen David Lynn and Gary Boyd and Julien Guerrier of France are leading.

India’s Jyoti Randhawa lie one stroke back after firing a 70 for a 140 total.

In the United States, Asian Tour honorary member and Asia’s first Major winner Yang Yong-eun of Korea fired a four-under-par 67 to sit in tied 28th place at The Barclays.

Yang’s two-day total of two-under-par 140 is six strokes behind tournament leader Jason Day of Australia.
