WILLIAMSON MAGOR “A” LEAD THE WAY

Kolkata, July 28, 2010: Williamson Magor “A” stamped their authority on this year’s edition of the KKN presented Telegraph Cup in association with Senbo & Ballantine’s when Jayanto Gohain returned a 75 to help his team total 142 at the end of two days of regulation play. Their closest competition was from McLeod Russel “A” who are from Division I and the surprise package of Ichiban Facility Management (Division III )for whom Samaresh Sardar who regularly plays on the Indian Amateur Tour returned an electric round of 69 for a total of 153.

Oil India “A” with a accumulative score of 155 are in striking distance of McLeod Russel India “A” and “C” who are narrowly only two strokes ahead.

Division II Cognizant Cognizant Technology Solutions lead at 164 (8 strokes) ahead of Goodricke “B” who are at 172.

Division III seems set for a one horse race with Ichiban Facility Management’s closest rivals G I Security 16 strokes behind.

The KKN presented Telegraph Challenge Cup wears a much more competitive look with Senbo – blue at 72 followed by Global India Inc. Pvt. Ltd at 71 and in third place Senbo – yellow at 70.

However with a large number of players especially from outstation still to play on the last two days changes can be expected at the top of the leader board.

The Days honours for the Ballantine’s long Drive went to D Thakuria of Oil India “A” with JP Sarkar from Senbo – yellow returning the best card in the Challenge Cup.

Dr. S K Barua from McLeod Russel “C” in Division I along with Indranil Chakravarty from Connizant in Division II both had 62 nett and Samaresh Sardar in Divison III with a 65 nett were the best in their respective divisions.
