17 MEMBERS IN WORLD’S TOP-200 July 06, 2010: A total of 17 Asian Tour members are ranked in the latest top-200 of the Official World Golf Rankings released on Tuesday. Asian Tour honorary member and Asia’s first Major champion Yang Yong-eun of Korea tops the list in 27th place while compatriot K.J. Choi is in 40th position. Welshman Rhys Davies lies in 49th place while reigning Asian Tour number one Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand slipped to 53rd position. Vijay Singh of Fiji, also an Asian Tour honorary member, moved up to 63rd position following his top-10 finish at the AT&T National. Korea’s Kim Kyung-tae is placed in 71st position followed by two-time Asian Tour winner Tetsuji Hiratsuka of Japan and Chinese stalwart Liang Wen-chong in 86th and 87th places respectively. The other Asian Tour members inside the top-200 are India’s Jeev Milkha Singh (102nd), Korean teen sensation Noh Seung-yul (111th), Australian duo Marcus Fraser (113th) and Andrew Dodt (129th), Japan’s Daisuke Maruyama (151st), Gaganjeet Bhullar (165th) of India, Thailand’s Prayad Marksaeng (172nd), Korea’s Bae Sang-moon (183rd) and South African Jbe Kruger (186th). |
