Zamal Hossain Mollah’s team wins the Pro-Am at the Aircel PGTI Players Championship presented by Oxford Golf & Country Club Pune, July 3, 2010: The Pro-Am event of the Aircel PGTI Players Championship presented by Oxford Golf & Country Club witnessed amateur golfers from Pune tee-off alongside some of India’s top professional golfers. The Pro-Am was played in the team scramble format where the team’s best ball was chosen on every shot including the putting green. After the best ball was chosen all other players were to place their ball within one score card length before continuing play. PGTI member Mohd. Zamal Hossain Mollah of Bangladesh led his team to victory with a score of 55.1. Mollah’s team comprised of amateurs Mr. Arvind Sethi, Mr. Sudin Baraokar and Mr. Faisal Khemjiboy. PGTI member Shamim Khan helped his team finish second with a score of 55.7. Shamim’s team comprised of amateurs Mrs. M Subbalaxmi, Mrs. B R Hajaranavis and Mr. H D Kim. The prize for the straightest drive on hole no. 16 was bagged by Mr. Sunil Dalal whose drive landed four feet five inches from the centre of the fairway. Mr. Anil Chabria won the closest to the pin contest on hole number 3. His shot landed nine feet from the pin. The prize for the longest drive was won by Mr. Jay Shirke whose drive landed 145 yards short of the green on hole no. 13. |
